CTS Hire has purchased 10 new refuse collection vehicles (RCVs) in what it describes as its most significant fleet investment to date.

The new RCVs bring the vehicle hire company’s total rental stock to more than 200 vehicles.

Bob Sweetland, managing director at CTS Hire, said: ‘This is a major fleet investment and signifies further growth for CTS Hire. It is also a demonstration of our commitment to maintain a high proportion of new vehicles within our rental stock.

‘We want our customers to benefit from the very latest vehicle technology. These vehicles feature lower emission Euro 6 engines and are fully equipped with safety and tracking technology.’

The new fleet includes a combination of Dennis Eagle Elite narrow and standard width 18-tonne and 26-tonne refuse vehicles.

The vehicles are fitted with Terberg automatic split bin lifts, equipped with 360° camera systems and tracking technology and are Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) compliant.

CTS Hire added two all-electric RCVs to its rental fleet at the end of last year, enabling councils and vehicle operators to trial the technology before committing in the long term.
