A Doosan compressor, part of a £4 million order by A-Plant

Doosan wins major compressor order from A-Plant

Published:  10 September, 2015

Doosan Portable Power has won an order for portable compressors worth more than £4 million from A-Plant, the leading plant, tools and equipment Hire Company.

The order for almost 500 Doosan compressors includes the first order in the UK for the innovative new Dual Mode model from Doosan.

A-Plant has ordered more than 60 portable compressors as well as 24 of the larger Dual Mode model, along with more than 400 other units.

The innovative ‘Dual Mode’ feature offers a choice of dual pressure and flow outputs on both machines that can be selected simply by pushing a button on the keypad.

The portable compressors provide a ‘two-for-one’ solution so fleets no longer need to have two different sized models. The compressors cover a wide range of applications, from standard pressure uses found in construction and utility markets to more specialist high pressure applications such as abrasive blasting, spray painting and optical fibre blowing.

Andrew Winlow, Director of Purchasing & Fleet Management at A-Plant, said: ‘We bought a tranche of the new Doosan 7/125-10/110 compressors last year and have been impressed with the flexibility and cost savings they offer.

‘In the new order we have added more of these compressors together with over 60 of the new 7/73-10/53 models to provide even more flexibility in the fleet. Backed by outstanding local aftermarket support throughout the UK, the Doosan range of portable compressors continues to prove why it is acknowledged as the market leader worldwide.’

Steve Hallam, UK Sales Manager for Doosan Portable Power, said: ‘This is one of the largest orders ever won by Doosan Portable Power and is the result of our close collaboration over many years with A-Plant.

‘The new 7/73-10/53 and 7/125-10/110 compressors are the fruits of our ongoing investment in the research and development of the Doosan range of portable power products aimed at applications in plant and tool rental, construction and utilities.’
