Westminster Waste orders third Enviroweigh system

Published:  15 June, 2017

Westminster Waste has ordered its third RCV equipped with bin-weighing equipment to enhance its pay-by-weight service. In future bin-weighing technology will be part of the standard specification for all new vehicles on the company’s fleet.

Westminster Waste took delivery of its first RCV last year, a Euro VI DAF CF 440 FAX 8x2 chassis fitted with the Enviroweigh bin-weighing system from Vehicle Weighing Solutions. A second ‘bin-weighing ready’ vehicle was purchased soon afterwards as part of the company’s ongoing vehicle replacement programme to upgrade the fleet with the latest Euro VI compliant trucks.

Dave Tucker, director at Westminster Waste, said: ‘The VWS bin-weighing system enables us to monitor the weight data for every bin, and we can easily upload the information to our back office system, allowing us to quickly present accurate weight information to our customers. We have found the VWS equipment to be consistent and very reliable.’

Enviroweigh integrates with vehicle CCTV and telemetry systems to enable remote monitoring and the collection of data. It provides a real-time solution to such issues as uncollected bin queries and re-routing the truck for an urgent collection.

Julian Glasspole, managing director, VWS said: ‘It is great news that our system is having such a positive effect on Westminster Waste’s business, so much so that it is now standard issue on new vehicles.’
