New drivers' psychometric assessment software designed to help manage occupational road risk has been launched by DAVIS.

The Driver Risk Assessor features an online profiling solution which analyses attitude and behaviour, enabling risk-taking drivers to be quickly identified.

The software features a series of online tests with multiple choice and interactive video assessments to help understand the driver's psychology and measure risk areas.

The online assessment covers road knowledge, observation, hazard perception, distance following, reaction and safe driving policy knowledge, via a 20-30 minute web-based survey and analysis. The risk score is logged against a driver profile which is further enhanced by incorporating DAVIS Licence Check results.

Richard Brown, managing director of Licence Check Ltd which developed DAVIS, said: 'Our new solution rapidly profiles the risk of drivers, flagging them as high, medium or low risk. This is highly valuable for fleet managers, as it identifies the drivers that need further support and training.

'Fleet managers have the opportunity to tailor the support and training provided for drivers at risk, rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach'

The DAVIS team recently supported British Gypsum's Driver of the Year competition. The Driver Risk Assessor took a lead role in determining the results of the competition, as scores from live assessments carried out on the day were taken into consideration.
