Diesel engine supplier Hatz GB has completed an order to provide the power for a hire fleet of hazardous waste trailers for Sayers Road Tankers.

Sayers chose the Hatz 3L41C Silent Pack engine principally because of its superior acoustic capability which is important when operating a tanker in a noise sensitive area.

Other factors that influenced their decision included; the overall compact size of the 3L41C ' this gives the manufacturer the option to install the engine either on the side of the unit or underslung underneath the trailer.

In addition, the engine is air-cooled so there is no need for anti-freeze and all access points are accessible from one side.

Bob Benjamin, of Sayers Road Tankers, said: 'For this project we worked closely with Ian Greenwood at Gardner Denver who design and manufacture discharge equipment solutions to the tanker industry.

'Their ultimate aim is to arrive at the best solution for our needs. Gardner Denver offers the Hatz engine package as a drive solution, as in their experience, they find that Hatz provide a quick and helpful information. They have always found Hatz to be supportive and responsive when any issues have occurred which is very important when selecting an engine supplier'

Sayers has seven trailers in its hire fleet, all fitted with Hatz engines. The company has been established for 22 years and operates from three dedicated sites on the Leeming Bar Industrial Estate, North Yorkshire.

The company manufacture a range of tankers types for commercial requirements including; general purpose chemical tankers, rubber lined tankers, vacuum waste vehicles, milk articulated and farm collection vehicles. They also produce and supply 'cleaning in place' (CIP) wash plants.
