Lincolnshire County Council has recently taken delivery of two new Strata low floor for its CallConnect network ' a transport on-demand service in rural communities.

The vehicles have been deployed with Sleafordian Coaches, serving the area around Sleaford and also with TransportConnect for a semi-flexible route between Grantham and Stamford.

Engineered with accessibility in mind, the Strata offers a variety of internal layout configurations to accommodate the needs of less able passengers. It is also able to operate in areas that could be inaccessible to larger buses.

Jane Dransfield, area sales manager for Mellor, said: 'The council chose to add more Mellor vehicles to its fleet because of the excellent reliability, build quality and aftersales support.  Approximately one-fifth of their existing fleet is made up of Mellor buses, so it's great to see that our customers value our products and want to come back for more'

Commenting on his experience with Mellor, Steve Roberts, fleet engineer for Lincolnshire County Council, said: 'It can get very busy at the council during various points throughout the year, so having the helpful team at Mellor on hand during this process has been a great benefit.

'What's impressed me more than anything is the excellent build quality of their vehicles and also their technical expertise. We're very happy with the vehicles and we hope the passengers will be too'
