IRTE to offer professional registration workshops at the CV Show

Published:  01 April, 2015

The Commercial Vehicle Show, held at the Birmingham NEC from 14-16 April, is the most comprehensive road freight transport event in Europe. The Institute of Road Transport Engineers (IRTE) will have a significant presence at the show, offering visitors the chance to find out more about professional registration.

IRTE will be hosting free registration workshops twice a day throughout the show. Visitors will have the chance to find out more about professional registration via the Engineering Council (at EngTech, IEng and CEng level) and how this can help engineers and technicians who work in the road transport sector.

Workshops will take place at the IRTE stand in hall 5, stand 5G71, and will run every day of the show at 10am and 2pm.

'As the UK's leading professional engineering institution for road transport professionals, IRTE is well-equipped to support engineers and technicians in this sector throughout their careers, including with the registration process, says Rachel Grace, IRTE's membership and professional standards manager.

'Being professionally registered is an international benchmark of engineering skill, and is often a pre-requisite for those wishing to go further with their careers. SOE ensures this process is as smooth as possible for applicants, and provides guidance at every step.'

Visitors to the stand will also have the chance to try out the UK's first ever virtual reality spray painting machine. Pioneered for use in the body repair sector for skills analysis and to train apprentices, the machine is on loan from Bristol-based S&B Automotive Academy.

Those wishing to register their interest for the workshops can do so by emailing registration@soe.org.uk or by turning up to the stand 15 minutes beforehand.
