Brigade Electronics will be explaining the issues of multiple blind spots around a vehicle at the RWM show this year.

Brigade's UK Marketing Manager, Emily Hardy said: 'We have a floor graphic highlighting all the blind spots around a refuse vehicle and fatality statistics associated with them.

'The statistics from the Police Accident Database tell a very interesting story. For instance, we associate the blind spot with the left hand side of a vehicle, especially with huge media attention on collisions between cyclists and commercial vehicles. But while 18% of accidents are left hand-hand side swipes, a whopping 32% are right hand.

'This shows that we can no longer consider blind spots in isolation and blind spot devices are essential 360o around the vehicle.'

Brigade's Backeye360 systems provide the driver with a real time 360o bird's-eye view of the vehicle within a single image.

Ultra wide-angle cameras mounted on the front, sides and rear of the vehicle capture the surrounding areas of the vehicle including all blind spots. Simultaneous digital images from these cameras are then processed to eliminate distortion, resulting in a clear 360o single image delivered in real-time on the driver's monitor.

Visitors to the stand will be able to view live footage from a model RCV fitted with Backeye360.

And Brigade's new Backsense radar sensor system, which offers a bespoke detection area from 3m to 30m long and 2m and 10m wide, will also be on display.

Members of the Brigade team will be able to offer advice on FORS and CLOCS schemes which have been growing in popularity within the industry. You can find the Brigade stand at 5Z30-ZZ31.
