Brigade Electronics has launched a new pulsed radar system that features close-in corner blind spot detection.
The Workzone Backsense is suitable for light to medium-duty mobile plant machinery, and has two antenni, offering complimentary detection ranges.
One antenna offers a shorter radar beam for close-in detection across the back, while the others provide a three-metre range at approximately the vehicle width, to prevent false alarms.
The sensors are connected to an incab warning device to alert the driver to an obstacle, or person in his danger zone when manoeuvring. Fitted with sound-reversing alarms, Brigade is phasing out beeping tonal alarms. With sound reversing alarms the sound is directional, and therefore locatable.
