Aebi Schmidt is to train four engineers as Master Technicians to provide engineer training for customers by the company's field staff.
Until recently, the company had two centrally based dedicated Technical Trainers, one of whom is retiring.
'Instead of recruiting a replacement, we've decided to train some of the engineers we already have in the field and give them the necessary skills to deliver training to customers,' said UK Managing Director Bill Goodwin.
He says the benefits of this will be:
• The engineers will have another step in their career path.
• We have a more flexible approach to provide training when it is requested.
• Travel times are better managed as the four engineers are located across the country.
• When training demands are low the engineers will carry on with their normal work.
• It will provide greater productivity in the engineering workforce with a group of trainers able to meet the needs of the customers more precisely.
