Two new types of film for vehicle graphics have been introduced by 3M.

The non-PVC wrap films are launched under the Envision Film brand and claim to combine exceptional print quality and performance with a sustainable edge.

The Envision Print Wrap Film SV480Cv3 and LX480Cv3 are easy to apply and 100 per cent compatible with UV, Solvent and Latex printers.

They are workable in both high and low ambient temperatures, can be stretched up to 150 per cent and guard against UV rays, high temperatures, moisture and even acid dew.

The films can easily be repositioned on vehicles to get the correct alignment and follow curves and complex surfaces. The films also have increased resistance to tearing, allowing large pieces to come away for a cleaner and faster removal.

The green credentials come from the manufacturing process which not only uses 60% less solvent but also a solvent that is made in part with bio-based materials, is phthalate-free, and has no added chlorine or other halogens. These non-PVC properties mean that no hydrogen chloride (HCl) or hydrochloric acid are produced, so no neutralisation or pollution control equipment is required for storage or disposal.
