Waste management and recycling specialists Wicks Group has taken delivery of a top spec 44-tonne Range T520 tag and Range C430 8x4 drawbar unit.

The Range T is being used for Wicks Group's bulk-tipper work and has been used for waste recycling from Yorkshire into the Scottish Borders. It features tipping and walking floor hydraulics, Voith retarder, Dura-Bright alloys, light bar and a 9-tonne front axle. The Range C drawbar skip carrier, fitted with Multilift XR24S:55 hooklift equipment has recently been delivered.

Managing director David Wicks said: 'I was looking for an additional vehicle for our line-up and I'd seen the press about the Range T ' including its accolade as International Truck of the Year 2015 ' and I was impressed.

'This, along with a comprehensive three-year warranty package, sealed the deal.

'The Range T was the first Renault Truck on our fleet and it's been very positive to see it already returning a great fuel consumption of 7mpg which is equivalent or better than our existing trucks. This is a very good return for the type of work it does and I am confident that the fuel returns will improve further over time as the vehicle runs in.

'Introducing a new vehicle brand into a fleet can be a tricky business but the new Range T has completely won over my drivers ' they really like it, finding it comfortable and extremely powerful. The Range C, has just gone on the road but has also been very well received ' the driver loves it and has said he wouldn't have his old truck back!'

Operating out of the Wicks Group's Barrow-in-Furness base, these are the first Renault Trucks to join the company's 13-strong fleet.
