Following an increased demand for its services, Kilmarnock-based waste management company Billy Bowie Special Projects has expanded its fleet with six Renault Trucks tankers.

The 44-tonne T460 mid-lifts, supplied by Renault Trucks Scotland on a six-year repair and maintenance contract, will join the 125-stong fleet alongside an existing Range T and 32-tonne Range C430 8x4 Day and Night cab with Atlas Hooklift.

The new Range Ts will operate out of Billy Bowie Special Projects' Kilmarnock and Garforth depots on tanker haulage work across Scotland and the East of England.

Douglas Bowie, Billy Bowie Special Project's Fleet Operations Director, said: 'Following the changes in environmental standards, there is a greater requirement for the treatment of liquid waste. To meet this demand, we need reliable trucks and first class service. We've been running the Range C for about a year and the Range T since January and we've found them to be great assets to the company.

'The Range T has given us good fuel returns, which is crucial for our haulage operation and so this, plus the very high levels of driver acceptance, made us look to Renault Trucks once again.

'Keeping our drivers happy is a big priority. We selected the Range T because the new cab is terrific. Our drivers are often working away from home for several nights in remote areas of Scotland such as the Islands; they are delighted with the truck and we are receiving good feedback on its performance'

Billy Bowie Special Projects Ltd was established in 1991 and has other depots in Widnes and Sheffield. The company offers a range of services including vehicle sales, haulage of liquid waste, self-drive hire, septic tank hire and cleaning, wet waste solutions and skip hire.
