Ipswich-based commercial mower manufacturer Ransomes will be showcasing its latest wide-area mower ' the MP653 XC ' at the SALTEX exhibition in the NEC, Birmingham in November.

The MP 653 XC is the world's first and only wide-area rotary mower with a 4.27m (14 foot) cutting width. This increases productivity by up to 25% in comparison with traditional 3.4m (11 foot) mowers and allows up to 1 hectare per hour more to be mowed.

The MP 653 XC was designed and manufactured at Ransomes Jacobsen's European headquarters in Ipswich. The MP Series is primarily targeted at the municipal sector and provides multiple options from a single design platform. The new mower replaces the venerable Ransomes HR6010 and the Ransomes Commander.

Ransomes will also be sponsoring the inaugural SALTEX College Cup. This academic test of turf-management knowledge for students, competing in teams of four will be held on the first day of SALTEX 2016.

Ransomes will also be showcasing other municipal mowers plus Cushman utility vehicles, Iseki tractors and turf maintenance equipment from the Turfco and Ryan brands.
