John Deere to unveil new commercial mower at Saltex
Published: 13 October, 2016
John Deere will be launching a new, commercial walk-behind mower – the PRO 53MV – at Saltex 2016 at the NEC in November.
The rotary mulching mower with a steel deck is targeted at local authorities and larger landscaping businesses who seek a reliable machine to cut longer grass less often.
It is fitted with a Briggs & Stratton engine rated at a nominal 3.2kW at 2800rpm and variable speed drive for maximum efficiency.
The manufacturers say it can easily tackle a range of conditions in grass areas of up to 5000m² and, with no grass clippings to dispose of, using a mulching mower should save time while giving a clean cut.
It weighs 45kg and has a cutting width of 53cm and cutting height of 30 to 95mm. The cutting angle is adjustable on each axle. A strong crankshaft protection system is designed so that the machine can be kept running even in tough conditions.
The anti-vibration system (AVS) handlebar is designed to reduce the level of exposure to hand-arm vibration, enabling the operator to work longer hours without tiring.
John Deere will also be showing the latest version of the X950R rear-discharge diesel lawn tractor at SALTEX. This latest version is equipped with a new digital dashboard where machine notifications are clearly displayed, helping to ensure maximum performance, prevent damage and reduce operating costs.
A best-cut-zone feature helps the operator run the machine at its optimum speed while still maintaining a quality cut. And the new bagger-empty-assist system uses an ultrasound sensor in the bag and a digital display on the dashboard to indicate the filling level. This tells the operator how much material has already been collected and helps determine when it needs to be emptied.
