Triscan Systems has won a five-year contract to provide a fuel management system across Royal Mail Group's entire UK operation from over 230 bulk fuel sites.

The contract follows an evaluation of Royal Mail's fuel spend in 2014 which highlighted that more accurate fuel data and reporting capabilities were required.

Under the contract, Triscan Systems will provide Royal Mail Group with the ability to monitor and manage fuel usage more effectively.

A combination of hardware and software applications will establish automatic, real-time data integration into various software platforms, including Royal Mail Group's strategic reporting platform to provide substantial historical data analysis for cross functional reporting,

David Lamont, chief executive at Triscan Systems, said: 'We are delighted to have won this substantial contract following a rigorous and thorough selection process.

'This contract represents an opportunity for us to showcase our capabilities to a national audience, confirming that Triscan's reputation for quality solutions and service continues to grow.

'We are currently scaling up our operations, to ensure that we will continue to provide an exceptional level of service and support to all of our customers throughout the UK'

Royal Mail Project Manager Tony Brimson, said: 'The bulk sites are a vital cog in our operation but the current equipment is outdated. From 2016 we'll bring the sites into the 21st century with equipment that is fit for purpose'
