Municipal vehicle hire company Collett Transport Services (CTS) has bought two new DAF CF 6x2 rear-steer RCVs with Dennis Eagle trade waste bodies.
The 26-tonne vehicles mark the end of a year of significant investment and fleet expansion at CTS. The company has spent more than £2.5 million on new hire vehicles and now boasts a fleet of 165, including refuse vehicles, caged tippers, hook loaders, skip loaders and sweepers.
Bob Sweetland, CTS managing director, said: ‘We are committed to investing in only the highest quality and specification of vehicles. These vehicles are suitable for trade waste collections, which is an area of the business we intend to grow in the future.’
The last two vehicles, which are now ready to hire, have DAF CF 290 FAN 6x2 rear steer chassis and Dennis Eagle Olympus 23 bodies fitted with Beta 2 Lip lifts.
Graham Waters, senior sales executive at Greenhaus DAF, said: ‘The DAF brand is very strong in this sector and, in partnership with Dennis Eagle, we were able to provide an exacting specification for CTS. Drivers of these trucks will appreciate excellent handling characteristics, a large, comfortable cab and state-of-the-art waste collection equipment.’
CTS offers short and long-term vehicle hire packages and is part of contract hire and fleet management company Specialist Fleet Services Ltd (SFS).
Bob Sweetland added: ‘We have had a record breaking year in terms of retaining existing customers and also winning new business. We are looking forward to continuing our growth next year.’
